Pecundangi Real Madrid, Girona Consider Only Medieval

Girona coach Pablo Machin insists his team will not dissolve in their historic victory over Real Madrid.

In the first competitive encounter, Girona recorded a stunning victory. They won a thin 2-1 after being left behind first.

But Machin does not want to dissolve in the excitement. He just wants the Girona players stay focused on the next game.

“There is definitely a celebration, but I have not seen any champagne bottles,” Machin said after the match on Monday (30/10/2017).

“We show our maturity by not showing excessive euphoria after the whistle sounded.”

“It is a mature team and we know that we have a chance to beat a great team,” said the 43-year-old, who leads the Catalan club’s promotion to La Liga.

Machin then said, if asked to him three years ago, it might be a crazy question.

Girona now sit in 12th position in their inaugural season in La Liga. They have recorded three wins and three draws from 10 matches.

No Worry
